I am speechless. I just discovered this app having had symptoms for a bit more than a year and dubbed more or less insane by every doctor. I was so scared about forgetting the important parts for my next appointment. Thank you so much for this amazing tool!

Bearable Founder & CEO James

James (founder)

Having suffered myself with various health conditions, I know all too well the frustration of coming out of an appointment with my doctor or therapist knowing that I hadn’t been able to give them a full and clear picture to allow them to make a better assessment of me. This is unsurprisingly a very common frustration when you consider the brain fog and general difficulty thinking straight that comes along with many mental and physical health conditions…

FAQ

Yes. You can track an unlimited amount of custom symptoms, moods, and other health metrics for free as well as having access to weekly reports and a customisable graph that enables you to identify correlations between changes in health and your habits/treatment.

We do also have an optional subscription for $34.99 (approx $0.10 per day) and this gives you access to additional features such as unlimited Goals, custom Experiments, Correlation reports, and unrestricted access to all of your historic data (beyond the last 30 days).

Because we want to make Bearable as accessible to as many people as possible, our optional subscription is often discounted by up to 76%. The subscription to Bearable also comes with a 7 free trial and if you cancel before the end of the trial you won’t be charged for the subscription.

We also have monthly competitions for our users to win a free lifetime subscription, or to win a cash prize that would cover the cost of Bearable for at least one year.

Why do we have a Subscription for certain features? Simply, because we need to maintain and improve the app and that has a cost associated with it. If we didn’t have subscription we wouldn’t be able to help anyone. Especially as we’re essentially the only symptom tracking app that can be used to track and analyse an unlimited amount of custom symptoms for free.

The limitation with apps that are free is that they typically make money using your data. Often this is done by showing ads or working with 3rd party companies to sell services. This isn’t something we want to take part in.

Ultimately, we know that people with chronic health issues don’t always have the same disposable income as others and that’s why we try do everything within our power to keep the app as affordable as possible whilst still being able to maintain and improve it.

Yes. We’ve had over 600,000 Bearable users with a wide array of different physical and mental health conditions, neurological conditions, rare diseases, and hard to diagnose conditions. More often than not, members of our community have multiple chronic health issues.

Just some of the conditions and disorders that our community has reported tracking includes: Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar, Mood Disorders, PTSD, Migraines, Chronic Pain, Chronic Fatigue, Long Covid, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Crohn’s Disease, ME/CFS, Endometriosis, Fibromyalgia, Cancer, Arthritis, Diabetes, Irritable Bowel Disease (IBD), ADHD, Autism, Panic Attacks, Eating Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Substance Abuse, Body Dysmorphia, Phobias, Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), Lupus, Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), Arthritis, Chronic Stress.

Yes. The improvements we make to Bearable are all recommendations made and tested by our community. We’ve personally spoken to hundreds of people with a multitude of conditions and know that often what they have in common is that their health issues affect their:

– energy levels
– concentration
– memory
– mental health

As a result, we’ve created features that are designed to be as simple and as easy to use as possible. In fact, the idea for the app came as a result of our founder and CEO (James) finding manually tracking his data in a journal and/or spreadsheet exhausting.

Bearable also makes it easy for you to create and manage a wide range of reminders and goals to help you remember to make entries and stick to your healthy habits. We’re often told by users that of all the health apps they’ve used, Bearable is the app that they were finally able to make a habit of using, even despite issues with brain fog, memory loss, and fatigue.

We’re also currently working to creating quick-entry features that make it even simpler to track symptoms and factors in Bearable.

The simple answer is that your notes app and your journal won’t give you reports on your health.

Need to look up how your average migraine severity has changed since a year ago? Want to explore correlations between lifestyle-changes and a decrease in symptom severity? Think your energy levels are worse than last week?

In just a few taps, Bearable can show you reports that will help you to answer an endless number of questions that you have about your health.

Another reason that we hear our community use Bearable instead of a pen and paper journal is that it’s quicker and easier. They can open up the app, add their symptom severity, add their mood, track their habits, check off their reminders and goals, all within a few taps.

Ultimately, Bearable is easier to use and provides more insight than traditional journaling or note taking and this is especially important for people that already live with pain, exhaustion and overwhelm.

The main outcome reported by members of our community is that Bearable helps them to feel more in control of their health. In fact, over 75% of users reported this as their main outcome as a result of using the app.

Another common reason that people choose Bearable is because they have questions about what’s improving and worsening their health and our health and habit tracking tools identify correlations and trends that can help to answer these questions.

Many of our users also report that they struggle to communicate during doctors appointments and therapy sessions and that Bearable helps them to provide a clearer and more detailed account of what they’ve experienced since their last appointment. As a result, they’re able to experience better outcomes from these appointments.

Whilst Bearable has a wide range of features, what it aims to do is to help people with health conditions to get a clearer understanding of their health so that they can make better decisions and make living with a health condition more bearable.

Yes. Currently, you can sync a range of health metrics from Google Fit and Apple Health and we also have a direct integration with FitBit. The health metrics that can be imported to Bearable include:

– HRV
– Resting Heart Rate
– Body Temperature
– Step Count
– Weight
– Blood Pressure
– Heart Rate.

We know that syncing health data is incredibly important for our community so we continue to work on integrating more metrics and with more devices in the future. Currently, this includes plans to sync with Oura, Garmin, and Samsung Health.

Yes. One of the main reasons that people choose Bearable is because of how customisable it is. You can create custom:

– Emotions
– Symptoms
– Symptom Groups
– Health Measurements
– Factors
– Habits & Activities
– Goals
– Experiments
– Misc. Measurements
– Sleep factors
– Meals
– Medications

Our customisable features also include the option to hide anything that might be potentially triggering for users. For example, if users with Eating Disorders don’t want to view calorie counts or weight, they’re very easy to hide and this was a deliberate choice made to protect our community.

The benefit of being able to customise almost anything in the app is that it means that it’s easy for you track anything that could be impacting your health or a symptom of a health issue. You can track these using your own preferred terms and even using emojis so as to make the app more personal and enjoyable to use.

The short answer is: all of them – but the specific types of health and well-being metrics that you have the option to track and customise, include:

– Mood
– Emotions
– Symptoms of any health condition
– Medication
– Nutrition and meals
– Hydration
– Menstrual cycle
– Physical activity
– Bowel movements
– Energy & fatigue levels
– Sleep quality and quantitiy
– Reflections and thoughts
– Gratitude
– Health measurements such as Steps, Heart rate, Blood pressure, Heart rate variability (HRV), Resting heart rate (RHR), Body temperature, Blood glucose, and Weight.
– Custom metrics that can be used for tracking Productivity, Concentration levels, Sense of purpose, Sense of meaning, Social fulfilment, Sense of belonging, and other health-adjacent and well-being metrics.
– Factors such as Habits, Goals, Lifestyle choices, Routines, and any variables that impact your health and well-being such as School, Work, Friends, Family members, Weather conditions, Luna cycles, and more.

Bearable’s mission has always been to enable people to track (or sync) every aspect of their health in a single app. This is so that – with all your health data in one place – you can learn what’s improving and worsening your health and make better informed decisions about managing your health and well-being.

Yes. There are a number of ways to export data and reports from the app. There are also a timeline and a calendar feature that both make it easy to quickly look up historic activities and changes in health during doctors appointments. Many of our users report that they use these features before doctors appointments and therapy sessions to jog their memories and then also to help answer specific questions about their health during these appointments.

We recognise the sensitive nature of the health and personal data that you choose to track with Bearable and strongly believe in the importance of data security, privacy, and anonymity.  We take your privacy seriously.

1. Bearable does not and will never sell any personal data. We made this app primarily to help people like us and this would not be in line with our values.
